The Dodgers were held to one hit over the first seven innings but rallied to tie the score in the eighth only to lose, 3-2, in extra innings.

SAN DIEGO — A tangle of “Beat LA!” and “Let’s Go, Dod-gers!” chants rang out Saturday night, the usual offspring of the mixed marriage produced by a Dodgers-Padres series at Petco Park.Austin Nola sent the home fans off to the Gaslamp Quarter in a good mood, lifting the Padres to a 3-2 victory over the Dodgers with a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning.

Infamous in L.A. for his inability to survive the second inning of a certain World Series start, Padres starter Yu Darvish wobbled his way through the Dodgers’ lineup once Saturday, allowing a hit and walking three of the first nine batters he faced. Darvish threw 33 pitches to navigate that inning, 51 to get through the first two. It was smooth sailing from there. Starting with Betts, he retired the final 13 Dodgers he faced in order, striking out five of them and throwing 39 pitches over the final four innings. He handed a one-hit shutout over to the bullpen.

But Trea Turner came through with a two-out, game-tying double off Rogers. Turner had followed his 27-game hitting streak with a 3-for-22 stretch before sending his drive over the head of left fielder Jurickson Profar in left field. Profar took a less-than-direct route to the warning track and came up empty on his running leap for the ball.
