The DNC is again raising the thresholds to participate in the party’s next presidential debate, despite calls from some candidates who have been excluded to weaken the qualifying criteria

LOS ANGELES — The Democratic National Committee is again raising the thresholds to participate in the party’s next presidential debate, despite calls from some candidates who have been excluded to lower the qualifying criteria.

The qualification deadline is Jan. 10 — four days before the debate, hosted by CNN and The Des Moines Register at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Biden, Buttigieg, Sanders and Warren have all previously said they have over 225,000 donors. On Friday morning, a spokesperson for Klobuchar alsoAdditionally, former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg, who has been in the race for about only a month, has already hit the polling threshold. But Bloomberg, whose net worth has been valued at more than $50 billion, isn’t accepting donations and won’t be able to meet the donor threshold for the January debate without them.

The increased thresholds will likely exclude every candidate who is still in the race but did not participate in the Thursday debate: Michael Bennet, Bloomberg, Cory Booker, Julián Castro, John Delaney, Tulsi Gabbard, Deval Patrick and Marianne Williamson.of the debate process, after the pair was excluded from the last debate of the year.

If you can't qualify no matter what race you are, you can't participate.

I thought we had the last debate already! Come on enough already!

How does one get asked one's opinion by a pollster

Well that eliminates Yang. Thank God!

Every candidate running should be on the stage & every candidate should only have one minute to answer each question. When they go on their rants, EVERY1 loses because it limits others. The GOP didn’t block any candidate & the DNC shouldn’t either.

We should raise that to 10%

The only people who should be on the stage are Bernie, Biden, Warren, and Buttigieg - but this race is going to come down to Bernie or Biden, one of them will be the nominee.

Looks like this will mean a 4-person stage. About time.

Good we still have too many candidates that don't matter on the stage.

Every Democrat President will be impeached from now on!!!! No more DEMOCRATS

As well they should.
