James Buehler spent 10 days helping Ukrainians refugees fleeing into Poland.

New Jersey resident James Buehler with a Ukrainian mother and daughter who crossed the border into Poland in late March.James Buehler was frantically running through a mall in Warsaw, Poland, searching for a store that sold suitcases. It was to replace a now broken bag that had been used by a woman and her son to carry all that was left from their lives in the Ukraine. The bag had broken at the nearby train station, leaving everything they owned strewn across the pavement.

“Just individuals like us from all over the U.S., Canada, Australia, England, etc., on their own, efficiently working together in welcoming the fleeing families with warm clothing, hot food, comfortable warm tents,” Buehler said. It was a Zoom call that spurred Buehler into action. He had been invited by Lorne Adrian, his friend of over 50 years and former college roommate. The evening call was led by Adrain’s neighbor,“At the end of the call, mentioned he would be going there to continue her work, renting a nine-person van, leaving in two days,” Buehler said. “Once I heard that, I immediately called him, said I wanted to join him, and by midnight I had bought my airfare tickets to Warsaw two days later.

Refugees would often enter Poland at one of its four border towns, where refugee centers, many previously having been schools or shopping malls, were filled with refugees, according to Buehler. There, hot food, cots and warm clothing were given to the refugees, he said.

‘Glee’ Streaming Rights Move to Disney+, HuluThe musical dramedy co-created by Ryan Murphy was acquired by Disney in the 2019 Fox deal. They gonna cut out all the LGBT characters and turn it into a six-episode mini-series. I figured that it would. It was a FOX show, so it makes sense. They should do a major campaign in Florida.
