Diesel should cost 150p per litre as its wholesale cost has fallen, but retailers have kept black pump prices at a premium

“For retailers to be taking a margin of nearly 20p a litre on average throughout March, compared to the long-term average of 7p, is devastating for every driver and business that relies on diesel,” RAC fuel spokesman Simon Williams said.

The Competition and Markets Authority, a government-backed UK trade regulator, is currently reviewing the fuel market and retail pricing behaviour.

source: Hargreaves Lansdown. Crude prices are now the same as they were back in 2018. Considering inflation has been nearly 0% until recently, we’re being robbed.

TBF it is nasty stuff, needs getting rid of ASAP.

Probably on the instruction of virtue signalling people in high places who demonise diesel vehicles.

Of course they do they know that the great British public just take a deep breath and get on with it. No chance over here of someone getting properly upset with things hence the status quo continues and we get ripped off.

So if its coming down, can we reintroduce the fuel tax .. stopburningstuff

MillyMcMophead I noticed today that Tesco have reduced by 3p a litre when alot of other supermarkets and garages have reduced by 8p a litre

It is coming down slowly, very slowly but all the big guys are keeping it up in the 160s....it's the smaller, local, independent garages that are doing their bit, the others are Dick Turpins without the masks!!

Not our local independent. Keeps their prices low.

At Bellingers in Grove, Wantage yesterday, 148.9. Benefit of a good local independent retailer.

By design... to force diesel drivers off the road.

Electric Mercedes CLA to rival Tesla Model 3 from 2025 | AutocarMercedes is preparing to take on the Tesla Model 3 with an all-new, all-electric third-generation CLA ⚡ It will be previewed as a concept in Munich later this year... Hope it doesn't look like that. Sonata looks more appealing. Kinda cool tbh, but sadly like the newer BMWs it will be full of giant screens with MTX everywhere. So for me that's a big no. Back end looks odd from that angle. Like the Ioniq 6, the designers left for home early & let the YTS students finish it off.

Combustion cars continue in EU after 2035 with e-fuel exemption | AutocarExemption for e-fuels could be a lifeline for the combustion engine. What do you think - a good idea? Fantastic idea and finally some common sense amongst all this EV nonsense! I think fewer people will choose internal combustion as battery technology improves. You don't see kids flying RC racing drones lamenting the loss of noisy, oily glow engines. The same thing as in 1991, we would have discussed whether typewriters could be sold in 2005. We could sell them, but no one had bought them for years.
