Anya Taylor-Joy Didn't Shave Her Head For Furiosa Although the final moments of the Furiosa trailer show Taylor-Joy's character with a shaved head, the actor didn't buzz her hair off for the Mad Max prequel — but she did want to. Furiosa costume designer Jenny Beavan revealed as much during an interview with Variety, claiming that Taylor-Joy wanted to shave her head for the role, just like Theron did for Mad Max: Fury Road.
Furiosa will cover its title character's story from the time she's taken from the Green Place to whenever she adopts her signature look from Fury Road. As shaving her head and taking on a new appearance happens later in her origin story, she'll have long hair for much of the film.
