In the wake of the mass stabbing at an upstate New York Hanukkah celebration, acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf directed the department's agencies to review recommendations for preventing attacks on houses of worship and faith-based communities.
In an internal memo Thursday, Wolf gave agency heads 14 days to review recent recommendations made by the Homeland Security Advisory Council, and provide implementation plans. The memo, obtained by CNN, comes about two weeks after the council released a report urging the department to implement a series of suggestions for improving the way the federal government helps protect of religious institutions.
We should ban stabbing.
I live in a town with many Jewish residents-a wonderfully inclusive & accepting I was driving by one of many synagogues in town,I saw a police car monitoring the property. Comfort to know that they’re watchful, but alarming as well that it needs to be so.
Tax payers money should not be spent on religious structures. Churches do no pay taxes. Prevention and protection is on them. They can hire security on their own.
An outrageous NBCNewYork article blames the Jews for rising of anti-Semitism in New York area. Once again, the victim is blamed for the attacker's racism. Instead of explanations and excuses, we need unequivocal action against racism and antiSemitism
Be proactive, not reactive. This attack on Jewish community was not the first so where was the preparedness..
I think the recommendation is clear in TX. We need security in schools and churches.
Why not make them weapon free zones? smh
Dems introduce new legislation for knife control! lol
