Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine tweeted late Monday night that polls would be closed as a matter of a public health emergency as the state seeks to further press its legal case in court to extend primary voting to June 2.

More states postpone their primary elections as coronavirus spreads

Just a few hours earlier, Franklin County, Ohio judge denied the state's request to postpone until June 2 its primary voting originally slated for Tuesday.and a two-person race to become the Democratic nominee. "It is therefore, my recommendation, after talking with the Secretary of State, talking with the Attorney General, talking with the Lieutenant Governor, that voting be extended until June, 2, that no in person voting occur [tomorrow], but rather than in person voting occur on June 2," he said.

The governor and secretary of state were to submit the recommendation to Attorney General Dave Yost for review, just hours before the polls were set to open Tuesday morning.

DeWine said making this decision the day before the primary is disruptive, but is"the best of bad alternatives," and protects Ohioans constitutional rights.Illinois, Florida and Arizona are still slated to hold their in-person voting on Tuesday amidst growing concerns about group sizes and the possibility of spreading coronavirus.

I sense a different motive.

Folks this is dangerous! With war raging & expecting to loose the election of 1864 Lincoln said: “We cannot have free government without elections. If the rebellion could force us to ..postpone a national election, it might fairly claim to have already conquered and ruined us.”

Over exaggerated and over blown to massive proportions of fear mongering at its best ..

Ohio Governor DeWine said yesterday that he doesn’t have the authority to change the election date and that only a judge could do that. So now DeWine, formerly Ohio’s Attorney General, is saying that he is willing to break the law that he acknowledged and to defy a judge’s order.

DeWine is doing such a great job.

But let's leave all the malls open

Every Republican controlled state is going to try to harm these elections because they know Trump doesn't stand a ice cubes chance in hell of winning this election

Taking the right to vote away. votersuppression Why June? What's the excuse then? Why no vote by mail? Fraud.

I think all of them should be postponed. Too many people will be exposed to the virus.

Republican know that Ohio is voting for Joe Biden...they need OH to vote for Bernie....postpone the election, then election on, then its not. People have no idea what is going on. Do I vote tomorrow?

Why is our crap governor doing everything he can to thwart an election? The most dangerous place in America is between MikeDeWine and a microphone. RemoveDeWine FreedomFirst Election2020

Ohio Governor Recommends Postponement of PrimaryOhio Gov. Mike DeWine recommended his state postpone its primary election until June 2 because of the coronavirus pandemic, a day before voters were set to go to the polls Tuesday After making mouth on fox news yesterday. His state alone will run in 100k+ after test so why tf doesnt he just mandate it line the other states instead of pussy 'recommending' it? What I fear is that Trump using his Emergency Powers would DELAY our Presidential Election! I suggest all states be required to institute mail-in voting to ensure everyone has the ability to vote on time in Nov. Do the planning NOW!
