Despite its draining power, NASA’s InSight Mars lander is determined to squeeze as much science as it can until the very last moment - by ET_Exists

included studying how rocky planets both formed and evolved as well as to figure out how tectonically active Mars is today. During its venture, InSight successfully detected the first quake on another planet; gathered new information about Mars’ three major layers—crust, mantle, and core; detected traces of an ancient magnetic field “frozen” in the crustal rocks; and studied dust devils and other atmosphere and weather data.

Taken on Dec. 6, 2018 , this was NASA InSight’s first full selfie on Mars. It displays the lander’s solar panels and deck. On top of the deck are its science instruments, weather sensor booms and UHF antenna. All instruments but the seismometer have already been powered down. Like other Mars spacecraft, InSight has a fault protection system that automatically triggers “safe mode” in threatening situations and shuts down all but its most essential functions, allowing engineers to assess the situation. Low power and temperatures that drift outside predetermined limits can both trigger safe mode.

“The goal is to get scientific data all the way to the point where InSight can’t operate at all, rather than conserve energy and operate the lander with no science benefit,” said Chuck Scott, InSight’s project manager at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California.

The reason why gas prices are so high was decades in the makingIt’s been 45 years since the nation’s last complex refinery was built by Marathon in... TESLA. The real problem is that gas powered vehicles have better models and makes than electric vehicles. Makes no sense. The electric vehicles are copying off of the gas powered industry causing waaaay too much trouble. Electric vehicles should be made differently in my OPINION. What propaganda video have you been watching? EVERYONE knows why the gas prices are high and all who are responsible, lol. Americans REALLY are smarter than that, even if occasionally we seem extremely stupid.

Why are gas prices so high? Biden is trying to fix a problem that was decades in the making. It’s been 45 years since the nation’s last complex refinery was built by Marathon in... No this is 100% on Biden. When you constantly threaten to shut down the industry, they stop spending, they stop expanding, and this causes oil/gas prices to escalate. Again this is so misleading. Biden isn’t fixing anything and he said they make more than ‘God’! In fact the lack of energy policy and pushing EV’s without understanding the consequences is his vision. In the most recent quarter, ExxonMobil reported $5.5 billion in net income. If that’s “more than God”, I wonder how President Biden would quantify Apple’s $25.0 billion for the quarter. Five times more than God? Oh, and ExxonMobil also paid $2.8 billion in taxes for the quarter
