When the coronavirus ravaged Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis defiantly bucked mask mandates. In the two weeks since a 12-story condo tower in this coastal community suddenly crumbled, killing at least 78 people, DeSantis has stood somberly with local officials, including Democrats, as they assessed the damage.

In the two weeks since a 12-story condo tower in this coastal community suddenly crumbled, killing at least 78 people, DeSantis has stood somberly with local officials, including Democrats, as they assessed the damage. He nodded in agreement when Biden visited and hailed their joint appearance as a sign that those with opposing political views can work together in a crisis.

DeSantis isn’t ushering in a new era of bipartisanship or leading the election deniers in his party back to reality. The governor has dodged direct questions on whether Biden's victory in last year's election was fair. A day after the collapse, DeSantis promoted an unusual plan to deploy officers from Florida to the southern border, a move Democrats dismiss as political theater.Still, DeSantis' actions present a sharp contrast with Trump.

While effective responses to catastrophes can help burnish a governor's political reputation, the boost can sometimes prove fleeting. Former Govs. Jeb Bush of Florida and Chris Christie of New Jersey were widely praised for their response to devastating storms. But Trump, who never held political office before running for president, defeated both men for the 2016 Republican nomination.

Rep. Val Demings, a Democrat seeking to challenge GOP Sen. Marco Rubio, said she was “glad to see productive partnership between local, state, and federal officials as we work to save lives.” For now, Trump remains happy to be aligned with DeSantis. But several people in touch with the former president and his team said he has paid close attention as DeSantis has wooed donors at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in South Florida and gained traction in some conservative circles. If DeSantis’ popularity rises and he threatens Trump’s status as the undisputed leader of the party, many Republicans privately expect Trump to turn on the governor.

He needs those federal dollars to help with those beach front condos. Not to worry though Dems don’t hold grudges when people need help. Biden is the president for all people not just for those states that voted for him.

Wait? So maybe he actually has a spine? Who knew?!

Rockeffeler Joe Biden

Yahoo As politicians should. GovRonDeSantis and others should be working for the people not just Republicans or Democrats. JoeBiden and Republicans need to find common ground. Trump = NEVERAGAIN

Yahoo There's nothing Joe Biden likes more than making right-wing Republicans behave politely while gritting their teeth.

He “toned it down” because he needed the money. Florida couldn’t afford to take on the expense related to the tragedy.

covid is a tragedy wait until you hear what desantis has been doing about that

If only Biden could do the same.

'They' knew and did nothing.

Oh god, this is one of those “he’s changed” articles like they used to write about Trump. 🤦‍♀️

Donald Trump Reportedly Said Hitler 'Did A Lot of Good Things'Trump seems to have really liked Hitler's economic policies, before all the genocide and stuff. Yeah but we all know Trump is a *****. He doesn’t know much about anything. And that’s not me slating him..just listen to his interviews. He has trouble forming full comprehensible sentences. He's said something correct and praiseworthy, for the first and last time ;) The fact that he is an ex-President of a Country that was part of Allied Forces that destroy the Evil Regime, in my opinion, is 'Stupid and Dumb' to glorify a tyrant even if he kissed the feet of Jesus.

Opinion: Trump and Greene invite a horrific history to repeat itselfAs Holocaust survivors pass on, some have expressed fear that humans won't meet the call to never forget. Forgetting is dangerous, especially as autocrats seem to be on the rise and democracies fostering equality and liberty are threatened. | CNNOpinion Opinion Also the book he does read, the speeches of Hitler. In it Hitler made his defeats sound like great victories. Isn't that familiar? Trump isn't ignorant but he knows that he can't very well say 'I wanna do what Hitler did'. So he 'gently' starts with 'He did good too'.... Opinion Thank you Biden for the free flow of illegal guns over Biden's open boarders!!! The illegal guns coming in over the open boarders will cause gun violence for decades!!! Opinion Trump is one of America's best presidents❤️
