Derechos humanos: Van 42 muertos por protestas en Colombia

Cuarenta y dos personas han muerto durante las protestas antigubernamentales que dieron inicio hace dos semanas en medio del descontento avivado por la creciente pobreza y desigualdad en el país durante la pandemia, dijo el martes la Defensoría del Pueblo de Colombia.

La institución gubernamental de derechos humanos señaló que se ha reportado la desaparición de 168 personas durante las movilizaciones, que continuarán el miércoles. El 5 de mayo, la defensoría afirmó que 24 personas habían muerto durante las manifestaciones y 89 estaban desaparecidas. Las nuevas cifras de la Defensoría del Pueblo son similares a las de Temblores, un grupo no gubernamental que da seguimiento a la violencia policial. Temblores dijo el martes que 40 personas han sido asesinadas durante las protestas en incidentes relacionados con la violencia policial, mientras que un agente murió apuñalado mientras intentaba poner fin a los disturbios.
