You must understand, the wages that teachers are getting paid is not the problem here... the problem is that these teachers can not afford the rising cost love living and over priced housing market. Until home ownership is made obtainable again, this problem will snowball. truth
The strike fever touched in USA also. Let the teachers succeed in their efforts.
Wish I made 45k a year with 3 months off. Saweeeeeet.
Wish I made 45k and got 3 months off a year. Saweeeeeet.
So the district offered a starting pay of 43,000 to 45,000, that's not even talking about teachers with tenure. Not a lot of people make that kind of money. Not to mention get 3 months off in the summer.
So how much do they make?
Where is all the tax money collected from all the marijuana sales? Just so I can Nevada nobody seems to know where all that money is going?
This teacher stands in solidarity with DenverTeachersStrike. We are a powerful political force in this country. It's time we stand up for our values. TeacherAppreciation teachergoals
I agree that teachers should get paid more, however going on strike should only be for the benefit of the students...not for a higher salary. A strike is more detrimental to students because it takes away from the learning process.
Sooooo.......who tf is teaching the kids?
Teachers pay unions to do everything they can to protect the govt monopoly on education. Then complain when there is no one willing to pay them more, because there is no competition for their services. The union is a racket profiting from keeping tension between the two sides.
I would like a Denver teacher to say what there salary is and what the benefits are. That is the starting reference point. I have 2 sisters who are teachers and I would die to have their healthcare and benefits and pay is 50-70k(western NY)
And for those that would like to educate yourself before posting in either direction . . .
Teachers in Nevada should do the same; but they have NO BALLS; because it’s a “right to work state” people are scared to go on strike in Las Vegas. Good luck to you Denver. Teaching is the most under valued and under appreciated job in the world.
Fire them All . !!!!! Let them find real Jobs. We the taxpayers are tired of paying for poor performance and indoctrination of our kids.
✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
The average Public School Teacher salary in Denver, CO is $57,109 as of January 31, 2019, but the range typically falls between $49,854 and $65,930
What happened to the Pot money ? 🤔
Stop funding NEA. MAGA
Merit-based pay doesn’t sound so bad. Not every protesting educator deserves a fixed and high pay
Schooooooools. Out. For. Summer!
Fired em and hire new ones, it's literally one of the easier jobs in America!
Now they have time to get high.
Base salary of 50k......sorry that's a you issue.
Invest in smarter people not smarter bombs!!! Education should be free. Smarter people = Great America!!!!
Teachers are striking when starting pay there is 43k. Starting pay in MS is 34k.
I wouldn't recommend going on a strike. There are better methods than this...
All ya want is money.
Teachers are vastly underappreciated in the U.S. and sometimes underpaid as well. Investing in an entire society is a good move.
These teachers are doing the right thing. As the other teacher strikes across the country have shown, the strikes gain better wages for the teachers and a better learning environment for students. The strikes are only beginning.
Well, if we listen to the likes of AOC and other socialists, they will be working for free. Guess if they strike then they'll be shot.
When my late husband Charlie complained about 42 students being assigned to his class the principal sent him two chairs. The Cleveland School System went on strike a month later over pay and class sizes.
kfdinews Time to privatize the school system and get rid of this bizarre liberal agenda we've been doing for the last three to four decades
kfdinews You're on your own strike for yourselves not your students get real here it's all about money
Fire them. SchoolChoice
Time to end public education
Colorado is stupidly lax with how districts spend their money. In RE-1, instead of pay raise, or hiring teachers we: Cut school days to a 4 day week, made a second faculty facility because one air conditioned building for managment wasn't enough and bought a new gym
There should be no unions in public sectors.
Go teachers!! How on earth can you be able to teach with pay that means you have to work other jobs too? Teaching is the most wonderful job ❤️
Good, less time for the NAZIs to groom children.
Do it teachers! You deserve more and so do the children. FairPay
I thought it was about pay, not students. You mean they want to pay student's to get them in classrooms
Union filth, failing Americas children, and scheming for more!
Come on, Denver. Screw the kids ... the Teachers Unions delivered the votes for you, now it is time pay up.
Good for THEM ! It’s WAY PAST TIME !
They work 9 months out of the year....
Points for transparency. It’s Denver. They could have called it a snow day and who would have known?
