In Wisconsin, Democrats are ramping up their get-out-the-vote campaign in light of the Supreme Court’s ruling. Top Democrats in the state said the ruling didn’t surprise them, and that they were preparing for the eventuality that the Supreme Court would ultimately decline to extend the return deadline in the state.
Wikler noted that before the ruling, the party was already instructing voters to return their ballots via drop boxes instead of the mail. But the messaging will have “new urgency” going forward: “Now we can say the Supreme Court just ruled, you got to get your ballot into the drop box today,” Wikler said.
“Under the U.S. Constitution, the state courts do not have a blank check to rewrite state election laws for federal elections. Article II expressly provides that the rules for Presidential elections are established by the States ‘in such Manner as thethereof may direct,’” Kavanaugh wrote in a footnote in his decision, emphasizing legislature.
'We are too close to Election Day. . . Citizens who already have an absentee ballot should sign the back of the envelope and hand-deliver it to their city or township clerk’s office or ballot drop box as soon as possible.”
People need to help others and maybe give rides to the people who can't get out to a ballot box drop off or clerk;'s offices. They should be there to witness their ballot being dropped off IMO
Do they expand the number of polling stations that much for Election Day? I am sure Brian Kemp will make sure the lineups are longer than ever in Georgia or at least Dem districts. You might get riots if at closing time there is still long lineups of people.
