Analysis: The string of conservative victories shows why Senate Republican Leader McConnell used unusual and aggressive tactics to assemble the court's 6 to 3 majority.

regardless of the courts, a case that some experts say could radically reshape American elections.

“And then Justice Ginsburg passed away. A couple of months — actually six weeks before the 2020 election, we were able to replace her,” McConnell told constituents this week. The recent rulings have been jarring even to liberal institutionalists. Biden, who opposes Supreme Court expansion, labeled the abortion ruling decision"destabilizing" and called for a filibuster exception to codify the right to end a pregnancy. Justice Elena Kagan, in her EPA dissent, said she was wrong to concede years ago that the court's conservatives cared about the judicial philosophy of textualism.

McConnell's gambit in 2016 paid off when Republicans won the White House and held control of the Senate. Scalia's seat was filled by President Donald Trump’s nominee, Neil Gorsuch. In 2018, after the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy, a longtime swing justice with idiosyncratic views, Republicans replaced him with Brett Kavanaugh, who was seen as a down-the-line conservative.

Lol. But do they?

They are Supreme Court victories for Americans because the Supreme Court Rightly gave abortion decisions to the states and The EPA regulations need to come from Congress, NOT unelected EPA bureacrats!! Court is 100% correct in constitution interpretation! That’s their job! 👍🏼

“Siri, who is former Democratic Senator Harry Reid and why did he eliminate the judicial filibuster?”

'Unusual and aggressive' -- a bit understated, I think.

The Party who controls the President and the Senate decide nominees. Trump had it, Obama didn't, and Biden does. Therefore Trump and Biden were able to nominate and Obama wasn't. The average American is not as stupid as you think.

Yep

Democrats need to get another two senators over the line in November and simply do what Republicans would do in the same circumstances. Nix the filibuster and increase the SC to 13 to match the circuits.

It wasn't unusual it was diabolical

Also note how the hack here completely whitewashes what McConnell did as merely 'unusual' and 'aggressive' tactics, when what he did was theft, deception, hypocrisy and then nominating people who all LIED during their confirmations, about more than Roe. You suck at this NBC.

Why doesn’t the democrat majority just pass laws?

Citing Death of Roe, Alabama Urges Judge to Reinstate Trans Care BanGOP officials are already weaponizing the Supreme Court's abortion ruling to attack other rights they argue are not 'deeply rooted in our nation's history and tradition.' The history they don’t want taught in schools. It should also apply to anything having to do with women, but the GOP needs to be careful when it comes to their selective a la carte hate. Deeply rooted like separation of church and state?
