Senate Democrats didn't show up for the Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday morning to advance Amy Coney Barrett's nomination and instead stood outside the Capitol to protest the entire nomination process as an unfair 'sham.'

and instead stood outside the Capitol to protest the entire nomination process as an unfair "sham."

Images of people who've been helped by the Affordable Care Act occupy the seats of Democratic senators boycotting a Senate Judiciary Committee business meeting on the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to be an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020 on Capitol Hill in Washington.

Democrats have called out the hypocrisy of Republicans holding a vote on President Trump's Supreme Court nominee a week before voters will decide the next president on Nov. 3. That's in contrast to four years ago, when Republicans held up the confirmation hearings of President Obama's nominee, Judge Merrick Garland, to fill the vacancy left by Justice Antonin Scalia's death on Feb.

"You’re letting it happen" and "You’re letting Trump lead his coup," protesters were heard shouting by pool reporters. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer speaks during a news conference on Capitol Hill on Oct. 20, 2020 in Washington, DC. Senate Republicans are looking to hold a confirmation vote for Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett on Monday, Oct. 26, approximately one week before the presidential election.

For weeks, Democrats have made the case that Barrett would vote with the conservative majority on the court to undo the Affordable Care Act when the case is heard on Nov. 10 based on her past statements against President Obama's health care law.

Poor little cry babies

sore lousers

9 months is less than 6 weeks. OK makes sense.

I’m taking my ball and going home

You CHUCK... are THE SHAM..

I know that a lot of people don’t agree with this nomination. But I’m sorry. If you have been elected you should do your job without theatrics. Even if u have to hold your nose to do it. Working Americans do it everyday! Silly silly silly

AWWWW!! You shoulda shown up! Too bad . . . So sad. You lose . . . . . .

Democrats pulling for Russia or China, can’t figure out which in this situation. Definitely not doing their job.

After all the crap they pulled for 3+ years , they have NO ROOM to speak on anything shady . Americans woke up you cannot peddle your goods anymore it’s all rotten .

Boycott, Protest, Embrace LOOTERS and violence, can't stand law enforcement. Angry at Statutes, and need to Rename Products and sports teams.🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🤣

Word on the street is, due to the Dem's absence, the remaining proceedings went smooth as silk...w/o dopey posters, etc.

I just don't understand where the 'Democrats are crybabies' narrative comes from.....so strange.

Crybabies.

The whole impeachment process by the Democrats was a sham. They waisted all kinds of tax payer dollars. Vote Them Out!!

Can we get a refund from them for refusing to do their jobs, and still getting paid for it?

Funny it will not even matter 😛

So why did they participate the nomination hearing? Oh right — talking more time away from doing any actual work so they can play political games. Got it 👌🏻

What a bunch of babies!! Do ur damn JOBS!! STOP WASTING TAXPAYER DOLLARS!!!

Good. That lady does not know how to separate church from State.

Buncha sore loser brats is what they acted like.

😝. They are a disgrace to freedom!

Barrett confirmed and Trump re-elected all within 2 weeks! talk about a liberal meltdown of epic proportions.. 😂😂😂

Jokes on them.

I don't see how the vote is a sham. By the laws of the constitution the president picks the nominee & Senate votes on them. There are no exceptions!!

Even though EVERY poll says that the overwhelming majority of Americans oppose Barrett being pushed through, the Republicans relentlessly steamroll their agenda. Guess who'll be pouting like babies when Dems add six justices? RepublicanParty TheRepublicanPartyisOver

The Democrats behave exactly the same way as the Polish liberal opposition. Only obstruction instead of any constructive proposals. And anything that is not in line with their agenda 'violates democracy and the rule of law'.

Children. Vote them out.

THIS JUST IN, GOP MOUTHPIECE GETS MAD AT DEMS BOYCOTT, RATHER THAN ADDRESSING WHAT THEY ARE BOYCOTTING

GOP Hopes That Amy Coney Barrett Would Fire Up the Base FizzledIt’s unclear that killing Garland’s confirmation or forcing Kavanaugh’s did electoral magic for the GOP. The non-fight over Barrett sure won’t.

Amy Coney Barrett: Full Senate to vote on Trump's Supreme Court nominee on MondayThe full Senate plans to vote on Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to the Supreme Court on Monday, likely allowing Barrett to take her place as the ninth justice just days before Election Day. If Biden wins in the house and the Senate are in the power of the Democrats, should they repeal the decision? Do they have that power according to the Constitution? Borderline criminal. The GOP would have voters believe they are trustworthy public servants and yet they perform this stunt just four years after blocking Obama from appointing Garland in an election year. It is all about power for the GOP. All their principles are gone.
