San Antonio Brahmas News

Though a right shoulder injury limited him for much of the season, Delontae Scott is back to looking like one of spring football's elite pass rushers.

Absorbing a stiff hit from a Memphis offensive lineman as he tried to snake his way into the backfield, San Antonio Brahmas linebacker Delontae Scott felt his right shoulder go numb, and he was unable to lift his arm. Returning to the Brahmas after ranking second in the XFL with 7.5 sacks last season, Scott understood better than many other players in the league how injuries can put a pause on aspirations.

Scott said he faced a decision on whether he wanted to return to San Antonio for 2024, mulling how the two concussions he suffered last year might factor into a history of concussions that dates to his time at SMU. But, with no lingering impacts from any of his previous incidents and no concussions yet this season, Scott said he’s excited to “show just how dominant I can be” through the final stretch of the year, potentially setting up another NFL opportunity. “I tend to just focus week by week.
