More than 10,000 Deere & Co. workers strike after negotiators couldn't deliver a new agreement. In a statement, The United Auto Workers said “members struck at midnight after the company failed to present a deal that met our members’ demands and needs.”

Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021 that would have delivered at least 5% raises to the workers who make John Deere tractors and other equipment.

MOLINE, Ill. — More than 10,000 Deere & Co. workers went on strike Thursday at midnight after “the company failed to present an agreement that met our members’ demands and needs,” The United Auto Workers union said in statement. UAW President Ray Curry, said “The almost one million UAW retirees and active members who stand in solidarity with the striking UAW members at John Deere.”

Most people would be thrilled with a 5 or 6% or any % raise. The contract would have raised pay $12,000 (average pay now is $60,000) over 6 years plus a retirement bonus of $50,000 and other incentives. Even the Union backed the contract

This is why Unions suck. The public suffers while union bosses get richer.
