Climate activists protested in Davos on Sunday against the role of big oil firms at this week's World Economic Forum (WEF), saying they were hijacking the climate debate.

are among the 1,500 business leaders gathering for the annual meeting in the Swiss resort, where global threats including climate change are on the agenda.

The oil and gas industry has said that it needs to be part of the energy transition as fossil fuels will continue to play a major role in the world's energy mix as countries shift to low carbon economies. "I know some of the companies are involved in alternatives but I think governments with their subsidies, have to skew the field in favour of alternative energy," Heather Smith, a member of the 99% organisation.

You want all your products to be serviced by unproven heavily subsidized ESG green tech they're planning to pawn off as mandatory investments, and wonder why the economy (trade of resources) is failing? Hint: It's because you're WINNING. Congratulations! 😂

backtolife_2023 Climate Justice? lol

Ha ha, those activists are being paid by the Davos crowd. It's all for show.

Climate activists have got to be the biggest failures. Because they aren't contributing to the solution.

it's snowing..

WEF23 Controlled opposition in the pic. 'Govern me harder Daddy' types. The whole event should be declared illegal.

They want higher oil prices🤔?

10s of protesters there..

Funny how climate activists are allowed to protest there. Protests against the mass transfer of wealth snd power grab not allowed. Former great journalism house Reuters now just PR for elites snd big business
