Boston Red Sox pitcher Davis Price vowed to speak his mind more this season, and this is exactly what he meant.
Price is among the handful of players who decided to skip the event. The Red Sox are expected to visit the White House on Thursday. Price declined the invite in late April, saying it was baseball season. It’s far from the first time Price has spoken out despite the possibility of strong backlash. He criticized Major League Baseball for failing to include Betts in commercials and critiqued the league for the way it handles Jackie Robinson Day.
It’s a bold move for Price, especially considering it is frowned upon within baseball to paint teammates in bad light. That might explain why many Houston Astros who were vocal about Danry Vasquez’s domestic violence situation started giving less incendiary quotes after the team acquired Roberto Osuna.
When will this be taken down? He clarified he found the tweet offensive, which is why he RT it.
