David Ortiz was not the target of the shooting in Dominican Republic, police say

Ortiz's friend, who was sitting at the same table and was dressed similarly, was the actual target, authorities said at a press conference on Wednesday.

Ortiz remains in a hospital recovering from being shot in the back in the June 9 attempt on his life at a crowded nightclub in Santo Domingo. At least 13 people have been named as suspects in the shooting.

Luckily the assassination attempt failed and all those criminals are arrested! Thank god we had an excellent work from PGR in order to solve and conclude David's case!
