CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Comedian Dave Chappelle has announced a show at Keybank State Theatre on Feb. 19, landing in the middle of NBA All-Star Weekend festivities in Cleveland.. Vaccine cards or negative test results will be required for attendees 12 years and older.
The show will also require the use of cell phone pouches, which will lock phones away during the performance, according to Playhouse Square’s website. Phones can be used in designated lobby areas. The performer, who lives in Yellow Springs, is known for his Comedy Central show “Chappelle’s Show,” which aired in the 2000s. He won three Grammy awards for best comedy album, hosted “Saturday Night Live” twice and, in 2019, won the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
He’s also released a string of standup specials, including 2021′s controversial “The Closer,” where Chappelle shared remarks about LGBTQ people that some viewers saw asChappelle
