There's more than one reason Darth Vader is one of the best villains in Star Wars and cinematic history, but one of them is certainly his iconic dialogue. Although his sinister breathing would have been terrifying enough, the Dark Lord of the Sith delivers a plethora of one-liners throughout the Skywalker saga, proving time and again that he's a force to be reckoned with. Likewise, some of Darth Vader's best lines have also come from outside the films and the official canon.
“When I Left You, I Was But The Learner. Now I Am The Master” The fated final duel between Darth Vader and his old master Obi-Wan Kenobi, the above quote from A New Hope is one of complete confidence on the part of the Sith Lord. Vader truly believes that his power and training in the dark side has made him more powerful than Kenobi, a mindset that seemingly continues even after Obi-Wan tells his fallen apprentice what will happen if Vader strikes him down.
"Then You Will Die, Braver Than Most" Featured in Star Wars Rebels season 2, Darth Vader was tasked with pursuing the fugitive Jedi of the Ghost Crew after his Imperial Inquisitors failed to apprehend them. Eventually, Vader confronted Jedi apprentice Ezra Bridger who insisted he didn't fear the Dark Lord.
“I Am…What You Made Me” Following Kenobi's horror upon seeing his fallen apprentice for the first time since their duel on Mustafar, Vader's response in Obi-Wan Kenobi is truly iconic. A line that's clearly meant to pummel his former master with intense pain and guilt, Vader succeeds in spades and nearly kills his master during their first duel in the show.
