FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Daniel Serkov was indicted by a Fairbanks Grand Jury on Tuesday, Jan. 31 for the shooting deaths of Andrey Dorozhin and Dmitry Sergiyenko that took place in Delta Junction on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023.
According to a press release, Serkov told investigators he was staying in a rehabilitation center outside Delta Junction. While at the center two men confronted him about his prescription medications. He became frightened when a knife was presented and thought the men were going to harm him and take away his meds, even though no one actually picked up the knife.
Serkov said he drove to Fairbanks after the shooting in Delta and “shot off rounds at the South Cushman Gun Range.” Then he went to Costco and sold his jacket that had the spent rounds in one of the jacket pockets to a couple shopping at the store. After this, “He went to the Fairbanks Police Department in hopes they would confiscate his gun for an unrelated reason without knowing that it has been used in a homicide,” said Serkov.
