Dallas police investigating death in Vickery Meadows after burglary call, shooting

Police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting in the Vickery Meadows neighborhood of northeast Dallas after a 42-year-old man died, according to a news release.

At 11:30 p.m., police responded to a burglary in progress call in the 7100 block of Fair Oaks Avenue and found Danny Walker unresponsive in the home. Walker was taken to a hospital where he died. Police did not specify how Walker was connected to the burglary or shooting. The Dallas Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to determine a cause of death.The investigation, documented under case number 194581-2023, is ongoing and has been referred to the Dallas County Grand Jury..
