As such, there is a chance that CSI: Vegas will not be the final curtain call for the franchise, with reports even surfacing that CBS is developing a new CSI show, despite Vegas being canceled due to apparent budgetary constraints. This means that Maxine could return in a future show.

Long-running franchises often bring original characters, especially in any crossover episodes, which CSI: Vegas did with the return of legacy agents such as Gil Grissom and Catherine Willows. Due to the show's history with crossovers and character returns, this adds the possibility of Newsome and her character coming back to the franchise in a future show. Newsome already shared her interest in reprising the role, so scheduling would be the only factor left to determine her return.
