'The party apparatus from the state and local level to the national level has pretty much remained in control of Trump loyalists,' Evan Siegfried, a Republican strategist and commentator, told Newsweek.

The four-day event will feature a seven-part series on"protecting elections," as well as panels on everything from"fighting for freedom of speech" to"cancel culture" and"California socialism."

It will all culminate in a keynote address from Trump himself, in what will be his first public appearance on a national stage since leaving office on January 20. The former president, who has given some of his lengthiest speeches at past CPAC conventions, is slated to speak at 3:40 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday.

Weaver, who will be in attendance at the convention this weekend, said he expects an airing of grievances by the former president on everything from his impeachment trial to the 2020 election. "Donald Trump at his rallies developed what can only be described as a presidential stand-up routine, where he would riff on whatever was bothering him to the crowd's delight," he said."I expect that's what we'll see."

Then-President Donald Trump acknowledges the crowd during the annual Conservative Political Action Conference at Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center February 29, 2020 in National Harbor, Maryland. Conservatives will again gather at the annual event to discuss their agenda in Florida this weekend. Trump will give an address to the crowd on Sunday, marking his first public appearance since leaving office last month.

Does he own the crowd or does he still owe the crowd because I don't think he knows how to own anything. He would have to take account of the fact he gave to receive.

He owns the crowd of 01/06 as well. We know.

I voted for President once. why did he not call National Guard?...The line of “chicken hearted “ officials afraid of getting fired, would not do it . Apparently the man with real authority sat by and watched people die.

Owns the crowd BUT lost the election!

Which is why the GOP will get decimated over the next electoral cycles. Mainstream voters are greatly appreciating the US government not being lead by a corrupt sociopath. Joe Biden is getting stuff done and with approval ratings above 60%.

The place will be flooded with b.s.

The CPAC crowd

There is no civil war. It’s over. Stop pretending there’s still a moderate GOP faction because there isn’t. Maybe a few dying quails but not any caucus of substance.

Republican Party is the Trump Party!

What a truly gross cult they have.

Well, he DID pay for his supporters so, they're not wrong.

FACT -- GOPs Help fellow man like this -- They see ya' bleeding on ground beggin' for help, GOP would grab your, Cell phone, And wallet, Kick you in the rib cage and walk away screaming I got mine! Now get you're own Loser!
