Covid: Wales likely to see a 'tsunami' of Omicron cases

If there's a 'tsunami' where are the global deaths? The UK is now getting this Omicron, but what are the hospitalisations and death rates of countries who had this earlier? Has nobody got any inquisitiveness about them?
