The county’s leaders said school districts should “find ways to co-exist and to live with COVID” instead of moving to remote instruction.

Santa Clara County leaders made clear late Friday that schools should not look to the recentas a signal to revert back to online learning.

“It remains critically important to use all of the proven layers of protection: masking, such as double-masking, vaccinations, booster shots for those who are eligible, testing and remaining home when sick to prevent further spread,” Dewan said. until Jan. 18 so that students had enough time to finish 10-day quarantine periods if they had tested positive for COVID-19.through Monday due to widespread cases, though it doesn’t plan to offer remote education while closed.

I agree“find ways to co-exist and to live with COVID” instead of moving to remote instruction.

I can understand the concern for parents who have kids that are in grade school because they are unvaccinated. Middle school & high school aged children can get vaccinated so in person school is a better option, unless they have so other underlying health concerns.

Remote learning is a joke. If they decide to discontinue in person instruction they should just disband the public school system, fire everyone, use the money saved to give parents vouchers for use at private schools

If they go 'online' (which really means they don't do much real schoolwork) then the in-person school year MUST be extended into summer an equal number of days.

Good, they're paying attention to the science.
