Research identifies 20,000 missing patients in England - and warns more staff and equipment are needed.

It could take more than a decade to clear the cancer-treatment backlog in England, a report suggests.

If hospitals could achieve a 5% increase in the number of treatments over pre-pandemic levels, it would take until 2033 to clear the backlog.Increasing activity levels would require more cash for new equipment and more staff, however.Between March 2020 and February 2021, the number of referrals to see a specialist dropped by nearly 370,000 on the year before, a fall of 15%.

A decade is something we don’t have!!!

Can someone do these stats! How many more will die waiting than pre CV? How many will not get treatment because beds, esp ICU, are filled with unvaccinated … exercising their ‘rights to choice’ at the expense of others who have no choices ? What are these numbers ❓ NHS 👏👏

…. and realistically by then, most of us will be DEAD - wife has cancer and 7 spinal fractures, and I’ve been waiting over 12 months for a referral to urology - and I’m still paying (PAYE & NI) into a system that won’t treat us

SuzanneEvans1 Most don't have a decade.

Fucking England. Now GOP gonna use this as an example why universal healthcare won’t work.

They took no notice of their predecessors - so why do they think anybody will take notice of them. But jabs don't prevent infection, transmission, sickness, or death 🤨
