"There's only about 120 hospitals in the country that do lung transplants so it's a very small number of hospitals," said Dr. Hari Mallid, program and surgical director of the lung transplant program at Brigham and Women's Hospital.Carl Werden with his daughter, Delaney, prior to his COVID-19 diagnosis. Werden recently received a lung transplant due to his condition from the infection.
