The Alaska State Capitol has been hit by an ongoing coronavirus outbreak, but there are no plans to close the building to the public or to reimplement masking and testing requirements.

Members of House and Senate leadership said there is no interest in reimplementing COVID-19 mandates or closing the building to the public. Democratic Sen. Bert Stedman said there are too many cases in the building, and he was concerned that the committee’s work on the budget and other legislation could be halted if the virus continues to spread.

Well, Alaskans voted in a bunch of anti-vax Trumpers who are now.. *checks notes* supporting Putin, and ..*checks notes* ..apparently busy chucking child SA victims into the fire when they’re not trying to overthrow democracy. Empathy and forethought aren’t their strong suit.

The vaccination isn’t effective and people got lazy in their thinking that there’s no need for safety precautions anymore.
