A Utah couple who adopted a baby boy five years ago are now parents to their son's infant sister after the siblings' biological mother made a special request that they take in the girl, too.
The Weights were married for nine years before deciding they wanted to become parents through adoption. They spent two weeks in the system before being selected to adopt their son, Milo, who was born Aug. 21, 2013."She was a young mom and she had grown up with a lot of siblings from a lot of different fathers," he said."She never knew her dad so she wanted her child to have something better than what she had.
Shanna Weight was travelling out of the country when the agency reached out to her husband, she said. Joseph and Shanna Weight thought over the idea of adopting Milo's younger sister. They slept on it for a weekend, they said, but Milo already had his mind made up.

Sorry, not trying to be a Debbie Downer but this is not news. One of my fellow foster mom’s has gone through this. Had a 4 year old when bio mom got pregnant with another. I wished that if you had a child in the system, these moms would be forced into birth control. 🤷♀️
If you can't feed them don't breed them. It's pretty simple actually.
Why is this news? I know several adoptive families who have had the same experience. My adopted kids have the same birth father.
Although it is certainly wonderful that these two children were adopted by a loving couple who are able to provide a great home for them, the question looms as to why the biological mom seems to do nothing to prevent these unwanted pregnancies. Where is the help for that?

So getting pregnant and giving away the child two separate times isn’t the least bit strange.. 5 years apart and a giving away another child.. I know I know this is some sort of moral high ground I must be preaching from 🙄
