Analysis: Paul Manafort may be relying on the president to issue a pardon. If he is, he should refocus his energies.

Manafort may be relying on the president to issue a pardon. If he is, he should refocus his energies, forget about Trump, and instead rely on his lawyers to challenge this new state indictment based on “double jeopardy” grounds. Unlike the federal pardon, the jeopardy challenge is one he at least has some control over.

The Double Jeopardy Clause of the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution states that, “nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb.” This

Give SDNY and Mueller more credit. Just because they have indicted amateurs , doesn't mean they themselves don't know what they are doing and are ten steps ahead of this bunch of criminals. Including that ridiculous lawyer looking for a job in the WH after Manafort goes to jail.
