Men load a coffin onto a pickup truck in front of General del Guasmo Sur Hospital in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The port city is the most affected by COVID-19 in the country. Corpses lie in apartments for days and morgues are overcrowded. Guayaquil has registered about half of all Ecuador's coronavirus cases and patients have overwhelmed the city's hospitals. In addition, a nationwide curfew and bureaucratic red tape have hindered the work of undertakers. Jonathan Escalante, a city health worker, told journalists that one of the bodies he had been dispatched to collect had been in the custody of relatives for a week.
There have been 272 Coronavirus deaths in Ecuador(pop-16 million). Are there 272 coffins in the country? Yes. The funeral homes are refusing to take all corpses out of fear that the dead corpses could transmit Coronavirus. Hysteria- not Coronavirus is causing this
How this compares to Italy and Spain? This is why citizens musto social distance and listen to authorities! Ecuador is doing what it can without money Our authorities have done amazing work with no money. The last government stole even donations during the earthquake.Go Earth go!
So sad.
Shit, I think my cousin is teaching in Ecuador rn.
This is scary
WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP! Just like Italy fudged their numbers ..
Beautiful scenic place... Ecuador
Wow sad 💐

Whyyyy is there still travel going on during the pandemic? 'In addition, the city sends thousands of migrant workers and exchange students to Italy and Spain, two of the countries hardest hit by the new coronavirus.' FAANews CDCgov
Very good bay
120 have died and that make Ecuador struggle dealing with corpses..? I call BS. The media is again overhyping coronavirus to get clicks. This nonsense has to stop.
They can't keep up with 120 deaths?
NickKristof Make sure you have the correct information. Yes there is a health crisis. There is a fake news crisis been manipulate by Rafael Correa to create caos in the country.🤨
NickKristof I think there is a narco chief named coronavirus.
NickKristof Divertido en la India, no tiene tanto. Y no son muy higiénicos. Pero algunos países mueren más que otros. Muy sospechoso Parece que el ángel de la muerte tiene piernas.
Heart breaking! Ignorance (lack of knowledge) from the ppl and the president’s ineptitude when dealing with such a emergency situation.
It’s important for now and later to plan for mental and emotional health. We can’t underestimate the impact of post-traumatic stress and trauma for anyone, but particularly for those around the world who are on the front lines with the ill and the dead.
Dont worry about them. Worry about ur own propaganda
There is a man WITHOUT MASK!

There are some good news, the government hospitals are overwhelmed just like in the USA. Some private drs has formed a group (committee) to help people with medical attention at home, protect medical personnel, to pick up bodies, to protect garbage collectors, etc..there is hope!
Rule of law will become increasingly important in poorer nations with this virus, but corona virus induced upheavals could benefit dictators who, in turn, cover up their atrocities.
.Lenin red tape must be cut in case the bodies are infectious, keep them moving!
Is COVID-19 worse than the flu? Or is it the same as flu but too much?
This reporting is fair but a little too PG rated. They are not mentioning the part where people are burning the bodies out on the street in order to 'sanitize' the dead body and/or shooting the homeless in the head if the local people think they are sick.
😭😭😭
