Beginning Friday, Ohio will allow some health procedures to take place, and dentists and veterinarians can reopen. On Monday, manufacturers and offices can reopen. Restaurants, bars, barbershops and salons will remain closed indefinitely. (WOSU)

Office of Gov. Mike DeWineto allow some businesses to begin reopening after Ohio's current stay-at-home order expires on May 1.

Beginning May 4, DeWine said office workplaces can reopen, along with manufacturing, distribution and construction services. All businesses must follow strict health protocols if they choose to reopen, including a"no mask, no work, no service, no exception” requirement for employees, clients and customers at all times.

If a business suspects a COVID-19 cases, it must be immediately reported so the local health department can quickly locate everyone who possibly had contact with the patient. Ohio has seen a decrease in new cases over the last week. As of Monday, Ohio's Department of Health reports 16,325 total cases and 753 deaths from COVID-19.

Ohio Department of Health director Dr. Amy Acton said it’s important for Ohio to look at the virus as a public health issue.DeWine's announcement followed the release of afrom Republicans in the Ohio House's 2020 Economic Task Force. That group has been hearing from business owners via videoconference for more than two weeks.
