Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT As a romantic comedy, The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil on Crunchyroll perfectly executed and portrayed an otherwise tired action shonen trope during what would have been a normal battle in any other anime from a fresh perspective that most series in the genre would never be able to accomplish.
Close With so much emphasis on romance and the almost random call-outs to Kaguya-Sama earlier on, viewers weren't expecting such a dramatic battle with all the shonen staples. It had everything: the hero getting pushed to the brink and achieving an unknown transformation, losing control of their new power, and even inadvertently causing unexpected team-ups to change the flow of the battle.
"If this were a regular action shonen, the battle would have been drawn out longer for the sake of capturing some cool move..."
