by JACKSON WALKER | The National DeskA man who was previously convicted of manslaughter is staying at Syracuse University’s pro-Palestine encampment despite students voicing concerns to the university.
Warren is not affiliated with Syracuse University, yet students at the school have repeatedly spotted him at the encampment since April 29. One student, who spoke with The National Desk on the condition of anonymity, said she reported Warren to administrators and has not seen any action taken by the university.
“ is the most concerning, but there’s definitely other people there that we question if they’re students," she said. “We asked the university to ID them and to ID this specific individual and they refused to.”The student also disclosed that she and a friend who also attends Syracuse allegedly witnessed Warren photographing them with a camera as they passed by the encampment. That friend, who also asked to remain anonymous, told TND she feels unsafe with Warren on campus.
The Syracuse Department of Public Safety declined to comment when reached by TND. Syracuse University media affairs did not respond to repeated requests for comment from TND as to whether they were aware of Warren’s presence on campus and would take action.New York City Mayor Eric Adams has previouslyresponsibility for campus demonstrations at Columbia University and New York University on "outside agitators,” saying these individuals are not interested in peaceful protesting.
