The House has been busy on matters that won't become law, while the Senate's doing the bare minimum. And the GOP's right flank is feeling good.

The new Congress has accomplished almost nothing so far — and conservatives are quite pleased about it.

It’s a preview of the long slog that Washington expects during divided government. But the limping pace is also a textbook example of the strategy some Republicans hope to execute for the next two years, running out the clock on Biden’s presidency and betting on beating him in 2024. said: “Every day Senate Democrats are not destroying America is a good day.”’, winning historic sway over key levers of Congress — including the panel that sets the chamber’s floor votes.

Yet their swift passage of legislation that has little chance of becoming law is allowing the narrow House majority to divide Democrats on issues like autonomy from Congress for the D.C. government, as well as to ding Senate Democrats — who one month ago watched McCarthy fight for his political life and are just now ramping up their pace.

For now, though, both Senate and House conservatives are emboldened. That looks different depending on the chamber you look at: is among those still battling with the Kentuckian, accusing him of using panel assignments as retribution . and the chamber forced to immediately take up an impeachment trial for former President Donald Trump after Democrats took slim control of the chamber. But Schumer pivoted quickly to a Covid aid package, kicking off a historical period of legislating between an evenly divided Senate and a small House Democratic majority.

Last Congress passed over 300 bills; that is an average of 1 every 2.8 days

And we paying THEM!

WH will need to get more creative about executive actions to get done what needs to get done without Congress.

Something disgusting to feel good about

They started needed investigations and made Biden protect american airspace...not bad for this early in their term...just saying 🤗

Terrible laws, terrible people. The point is to get them in the record for their mythical huge win in 2024. Most will not even pass overview.

Politico with the Democratic Press Release

They seem to revel in being the do-nothing party.

The less government does to it's people the better.

GOP SpeakerMcCarthy If GOP thinks appointing House-on-Fire Rep Santos, Rep Cruella MTG, and Rep Misinformed Boebert to Commitees is reason to gloat, Republicans are in for another Lose-Lose

So they’re quiet quitting.

The GOP never does anything. They are a Nazi Joke Party

It seems like the FBI is the 4th Branch of government that answers to nobody.

The house republicans aren’t forward looking, in fact they are doing the opposite. They are allowing Trump to sneak through the back door to go after his political rivals, and they’re more than happy to waste time and taxpayers money to do it.

They are working like an latam congresos, bravo¡

Haha!

Are you questioning democratic outcomes? The US citizens elected gridlock and compromise. Both sides are digging their heels in - it’s early. Neverending legislation and the growth of bureaucracy is not required with each session. They’ve been in season for a month - patience.

There’s so much bigger shit going on right now besides politics as usual
