Después del hospital, algunos pacientes de COVID-19 se enfrentan a una vida atada a máquinas de oxígeno y llevando tanques de repuesto para respirar.

Las autoridades del condado de Los Ángeles afirman que, ante el aumento de los casos de COVID-19 y de las hospitalizaciones, esperan que el restablecimiento del uso de mascarilla como norma social ayude a reducir la transmisión de la enfermedad.Las tasas de casos en California han bajado con respecto al año pasado.

En el punto más alto del auge de California, la empresa alquilaba hasta 30 concentradores de oxígeno al mes. Ahora ha vuelto a bajar a alrededor de 10. “Me di cuenta de que pude haber muerto mientras dormía si no hubiera ido al hospital en ese momento”, explicó.
