All of a sudden, with a Republican in the White House, the GOP is in favor of shoveling money out of airplanes — and astonished and angry that the other party would hold up such a plan to look at the fine print.

Airline service in the United States is teetering on the brink of collapse, with near-empty planes and coronavirus outbreaks that have left some air traffic control towers empty.“We are going to save American workers, and we are going to save them very quickly,” he said. “If you had a viable business in January, we are committed to ensuring that the rescue is there.”

One reason for the GOP support is that the economic crisis touched off by the pandemic could be worse than the Great Recession, with some forecasts of unemployment soaring to 20% or more. In that unexpected and very limited sense, we may be lucky that Trump is in the White House at this moment. And he’s always been a fan of government subsidies for business — at least when he was the recipient.for commercial projects under programs initially reserved for improving slum neighborhoods.

When the first stimulus packages were proposed this month, there was a flurry of initial resistance from fiscal conservatives in Congress.

Ha, does anyone but their clueless base thinks this is going to help actually struggling folks? But as long as the Frump criminal enterprise is blocked from more free tax money, I guess I’ll deal with it.

Gallup poll: 60% of Americans Approve Of President Trump’s COVID-19 Response . . while only 38% disapprove. Ran into a couple down the street while walking. Retired liberal teachers; have suddenly become big Trump fans. They remember the Obama/Biden failure in '09 Swine flu.

they have always loved it,,, as long as the Super Rich and the Corps are getting the biggest sugar teat,,,

How dumb are Republicans?

350 million for illegal immigration

Such a dumb generalization. Guess the reporter missed Nancy Pelosi’s attempt to lard up this fiscally hazardous bill with trillions more tagged for Leftist “Green New Deal” and illegal migrant causes (having nothing to do with COVID or its harm to businesses and workers).

Really The only PORK I saw reading the entire Bill was from the Democrats. $35million for the Kennedy center 75 million for NPR and PBS, Millions for the humanities for the public schools......It goes on and on. The Democrats wanted Voter registration for ILLEGALS...

Until a Democrat is President then Fox news will be wall to wall Tea partiers.

Column: The failures of the last bailout should alarm us about the coronavirus bailout'The 2008 bailout teaches that without imposing conditions and establishing strong oversight and enforcement, companies will do what comes naturally — which is not necessarily to save their workforce,' writes columnist hiltzikm. hiltzikm The 2008 bailout wasn’t a “failure”. It was designed by Paulson and Pelosi to do exactly what it did. How can that be a failure? A.G. Eric Holder gave a pass to the fraudsters too. Obama and Biden were chosen by Wall Street. Some of us were awake. We know what happened.
