The Visual and Performing Arts Foundation's 'Beyond Brilliance' gala is on April 10

Restoration help for Crawford High School’s baby grand piano. A math-and-music program for Wangenheim Middle School. An after-school theater program at Point Loma High School, art-class equipment for Hardy Elementary and a series of ballet master classes for the Grant TK-8 School.

“Art is a way to make you a part of something and help you belong. To be able to walk by something like a mural and be able to say, ‘I had a hand in that,’ that creates agency, and that helps transform the world.” And when the foundation is supporting art in the schools, it is also helping to support the local artists, arts organizations and venues that keep our creative community buzzing.

Some of the fruits of VAPA’s nourishing support will be on display during Sunday’s “Beyond Brilliance” benefit at the Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center in La Jolla.
