Colder-than-normal temperatures across Northwest Europe since the middle of January have steadied gas prices and halted the bloat in storage, but the region is still on track for a near-record carryout at the end of winter.

Combined gas inventories in the European Union and the United Kingdom were equivalent to 807 terawatt-hours on Feb. 1, according to data from Gas Infrastructure Europe.

Inventories were 261 TWh above the prior 10-year seasonal average, with the surplus narrowing only slightly from 272 TWh on Jan. 22. Stocks are projected to deplete to a post-winter low of 606 TWh , slightly down from a projection of 617 TWh on Jan. 22. But the projected carryout would still be the second-highest on record after 609 TWh at the end of winter 2019/2020.Northwest Europe is more than 60% of the way through the heating season so there is increasing visibility about the likely carryout.

Tragic loss that is another one we can chaulk off to the results of greed. Or you can drive 2 miles north to Regency hospital, or 2 miles south to Community hospital. Tragic

Tim Steller's column: 'Housing First' challenged as homelessness solution for TucsonFor Star subscribers: Tucson Mayor Regina Romero has made Housing First the city's approach to its exploding homelessness problem. Her challengers in this year's election say it's the wrong approach. Hey genius, 'What and Whom' created these issues for Tucson? Hint: She's a Marxist and Mayor! Thats like saying Biden is now fixing the Inflation HE caused! Preposterous! Her challenges are ignoring the data. Getting people housed has shown to be the best first step. Incentivize developers to build more varying sizes of dwellings and this problem solves itself. Homelessness has 📈 because there aren't realistic housing options for varying income ranges anymore. Until any mayor or city council fixes this, nothing will change. Vote accordingly.
