FILE- Crime tape on scene of a shooting in Columbus. The Columbus Division of Police have released data from this year's first Operation Unity, conducted this past Thursday in parts of south Columbus including Hungarian Village and Olde Towne East.
Operation Unity pairs local and state law enforcement partners with social services to focus on a specific area to address violent criminals and recover illicit substances or materials. This past Thursday, February 8, authorities served 16 warrants and made 18 felony arrests. A firearm and stolen vehicle were also recovered by officers, and drugs including cocaine and fentanyl were seized.
Authorities made more than 250 traffic stops, citing 52 people for driving without a license and two others for driving under the influence.
