Experts say the winter grassland fire that blew up along Colorado's front range was rare but similar events will be more common in the coming years as climate change warms the planet.

was rare, experts say, but similar events will be more common in the coming years as climate change warms the planet - sucking the moisture out of plants - suburbs grow in fire-prone areas and people continue to spark destructive blazes.

"I came out of Whole Foods, which is about a half mile from ground zero, and felt like I had to jump in my car and make a dash for my life as the smoke and wind and nearby flames were engulfing the area," Susie Pringle of Lafayette said in an email."It was scary!" "With any snow on the ground, this absolutely would not have happened in the way that it did," said Keith Musselman, a snow hydrologist in Boulder."It was really the grass and the dry landscape that allowed this fire to jump long distances in a short period of time."

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis on Sunday called the blaze a"a horrific convergence" of destructive wind gusts that hit the area following the unseasonably dry and warm winter.Balch said Colorado is a dry landscape filled with flammable material for much of the year -"and those chunks of time are getting longer with climate change."

"There were stretches between Denver and Fort Collins that had no development, but now it's just like one long continuous development track," Balch said."And those homes are built with materials that are very flammable - wood siding, asphalt roofing. The other important change is understanding how these fires start in the first place, she said.

For those who have a hard time understanding this very simple concept, here let me help you morons. DRIER material burns HOTTER, FASTER and LONGER..hence larger more catastrophic fires. YES, Climate Change impacts that.👆🙄

But it’s snowing in Washington, DC GOP MAGA

Nothing to do with climate change but everything to do with power lines not being buried underground.

The truth about “global warming” which is barely 1 degree warmer in the last 100 years: There are more trees on the earth than ever before. There is more oxygen than even before. You know what’s far, far worst than global warming? Global cooling. Be blessed yo, things are good.

California unfortunately has had similar fires like this for decades.

And the electricCompany is at fault, GoSolar

Lol garbage article
