The Colorado State Patrol has expanded its free steering wheel lock program, according to a Tuesday news release from the agency.
Each resident can get up to two steering wheel locks and must provide a VIN for the vehicle they would like a lock for, according to the news release. Location hours vary and stock may be limited.Locking cars, removing any extra keys or items and using physical devices like parking boots, steering-wheel locks and pedal immobilizers can help mitigate car theft, according to the Colorado State Patrol. The agency also recommends parking in a garage whenever possible.
