'It's important that we not get extended families together for Thanksgiving this year,' says the mayor of Pueblo, Colo. 'If we do, chances are that some of the people will be spending Christmas on a ventilator in the ICU unit.'

Colorado as a whole is one of more than a dozen states that recently set a seven-day record for positive COVID-19 cases.

One place seeing a significant spike is Pueblo, a former steel town with a population of just over 100,000 that isPueblo Mayor Nick Gradisar says that the recent increase in cases could likely be due to a combination of people relaxing during the summer, schools and the local university going back in session, and more extended family gatherings.

Pueblo is not really a tourist town. So to that extent, at least we haven't been as severely affected as other parts of Colorado have. I've been quite surprised at our sales tax numbers and the fact that they've remained pretty constant. We had some months where they went down, but not nearly as much as we predicted. So in terms of sales tax collections, which is a reflection of economic activity, Pueblo has done pretty well so far.

And in the same breath “Trump is keeping migrants separated!! 😱 So, Americans shouldn’t see their families, but illegals should. Baffling.

Americans and good people of Pueblo, get about the business of living your lives. Enjoy your Thanksgiving.

I thought it expired on 11/3/20

Maga?

Thanksgiving is well after election day, when COVID will be cured.

In 2020, instead of risking ourselves to Rest In Peace, let the turkey Roast In Peace.

Pueblo is my home town. I was there visiting my parents two weeks ago. Less than half the pple in public spaces (stores, etc) wore masks and I saw many large house parties. Pple in pueblo just didn’t seem to care much.

Oh God give me a break. I live in a suburb of Denver, And I am flying to California to spend Thanksgiving with my daughter. Shockingly because of air ventilation the safest place you can be is on an airplane. Pueblo Colorado is an impoverished community. So go figure

You are a government subsidized fraud factory. Hopefully your disinformation campaign ends abruptly, skip the ventilator so not pass go, do not collect $200
