Black history class revised by College Board after criticismThe official curriculum for a new Advanced Placement course on African American studies downplays some components that drew criticism from conservatives including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who had threatened to ban the class in his state. In the framework released on Wednesday, topics including Black Lives Matter, slavery reparations and queer life are not part of the exam. The course is currently being tested at 60 schools around the U.S., and the official materials are intended to guide its expansion to hundreds of additional high schools in the next academic year. Just DeSantis The outrage of black student and academics! The worst students, and the group least equipped to be telling anyone anything is angry that literal ideological gibberish isn’t included in an AP course. Makes sense. Why not include Wakanda, too? It‘s as real as the other bullshit.

College Board Shrinks Advanced-Placement Curriculum for African-American StudiesThe College Board released a revised version of its curriculum for a new advanced-placement class that covers African-American studies days after the draft was denounced by the governor of Florida as “indoctrination” So was there play then 'Let's see if we can get this through and if we get caught, we'll send them the revised version but we'll only change the name of the chapters and leave most of that stuff in' Good for DeSantis. Easy target for conservative politicians & media. Lever it professors to rebrand the same lesson plan, to get notoriety, federal grants, book deals, & press coverage all to the detriment of progress. Getting bogged down by titles & branding is not what teaching is about.
