Coco Gauff will make her Arthur Ashe Stadium debut at 7 p.m. on Saturday against world No. 1 Naomi Osaka. Gauff has earned $312,000 in her career compared with $11.5 million for Osaka.

"I think that's actually going to prepare me for Naomi, because doubles to me is more faster paced than singles," she said."Naomi actually hits the ball pretty hard. I think it will prepare me well for Saturday's match.""I think it's super exciting tennis," said Williams, who turns 38 next month."Coco is obviously much, much younger than Naomi, if you could say that, because Naomi is incredibly young.

Roger Federer, the 20-time major champ, says"Osaka is going to be the favorite. She played so great here last year already.""I think playing at home, there is always a shot and a chance, and she's done so well again here this tournament," Federer said."I think we're all a bit surprised that she's able to back it up after Wimbledon, you know, which was already an incredible run.

"Crowds were really going with her. For her to strive in those conditions shows she's going to have a great future ahead of herself. I like that also she's taking her days off, she's really taking days off and not doing extra media and extra stuff. Let her parents do that stuff. You know, let her relax.Gauff practiced with Osaka two years ago at the Miami Open, and the two are friendly.

"But she's a super sweet person. I mean, my dad and her dad have known each other for a long time. They always talk all the time. We've known each other for quite a few times now. She's a great person. She's nice. Her mom is one of the nicest people ever. She's so amazing. Her whole family is just great."
