The U.S. Coast Guard on Tuesday called off the search for four fishermen off the Massachusetts coast after scouring more than 2,000 square miles of rough seas.after their 82-foot fishing vessel, named Emmy Rose, disappeared about 20 miles northeast of Provincetown early Monday. Crews searched an area nearly the size of Delaware, approximately 2,066 square miles, over 38 hours before suspending the search at 5:22 p.m. EST, the Coast Guard said..

The Maine-based Emmy Rose was en route to Gloucester, Massachusetts, when authorities received a notification from the boat's emergency beacon around 1:30 a.m. Monday. The crew did not send a distress call.on Monday that the crew was"very experienced."The Coast Guard's search efforts were complicated by 35 mph winds and 6- to 8-foot seas. Crews on Monday found debris and an empty life raft.
