Ulando Mims Jr., 19, who is already jailed on murder charges tied to the Jan. 3 killing of 19-year-old Lequan Head in Warrensville Heights, was indicted last week in the Jan. 2 death of 17-year-old Tyrone Griffin in Cleveland.

Mims was already in jail on a $500,000 bond on murder charges tied to the Jan. 3 slaying of Lequan Head, 19, in Warrensville Heights.In each case, Mims is charged with a different co-defendant.Kevin Wright, 21,Cleveland police were called to East 69th Street and Fleet Avenue about 4:30 a.m. Jan. 2 and found Griffin’s body lying in the street. Griffin had been shot in the head and struck by a car, police said.

Mims was sentenced to probation for two years in September after he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft and two felony charges of possessing a gun with a defaced serial number and illegal conveyance. Beachwood police said in court records that Mims stole two bottles of cologne from Dillard’s department store while he had a Smith & Wesson pistol hidden in his pants on May 21.

Police in Parma arrested Mims on Dec. 7 and accused him and Freeman of shoplifting more than $1,900 worth of items from Dick’s Sporting Goods. Court documents say Mims and Freeman put the items in shopping carts and tried to leave the store without paying. An employee confronted the men, and they ran off. Officers eventually tracked them down.
