CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Turns out catching prospect Bo Naylor didn’t just arrive in Cleveland on Thursday to get his feet wet.
In another move, right-hander Zach Plesac, who will start Saturday night, was activated from the injured list. Rookie infielder Tyler Freemas was optioned to make room for Plesac. Naylor, at Class AA Akron and Columbus, hit a combined .263 with 26 doubles, four triples, 21 homers, 68 RBI. He scored 73 runs and stole 20 bases in 24 attempts. He will join his older brother, Josh, on the G’s for at least the next five regular season games.Shaw, 34, has been a big part of Cleveland’s bullpen for seven of the last 10 years. Besides Jose Ramirez, he was the last active player to play for the 2016 team that reached Game 7 of the World Series.
